2009 Draft: Day Two Preview

With day one featuring only three rounds, day two is even more important than it was last year. It is scheduled to go from round 4 all the way to round 30, and many future major leaguers are likely still available. Here is a quick preview of some names to look for:

OTHER PLAYERS TO WATCH FOR

Mike Bolsinger, RP, Arkansas

A.J. Morris, SP, Kansas State
Brett Nommensen, OF, Eastern Illinois
Stephen Richards, RP, Arkansas
Chris Sedon, 2B, Pittsburgh

Interesting, relievers did not go as early and often as last year, so there should be good talent to draw from in those ranks. I expect the Mariners to take many pitchers on day two with the focus on offense that ended up happening on day one. The pitching is deep in this draft, so there should be many quality arms available, especially early in the day.
