Non-Roster Race 2012 - Week 5

Five weeks ago, I debuted the non-roster invitee fantasy challenge. The Mariners a week away from Japan, and most of the non-roster invitees are in minor league camp. It is almost time to focus on the 25-man roster, but not quite yet! One more week remains after this one in the non-roster invitee fantasy challenge. See what the prices look like this week:
  • OF Vinnie Catricala: $32
  • OF Darren Ford: $13
  • RHP Matt Fox: $5
  • INF Nick Franklin: $15
  • LHP Steve Garrison: $2
  • RHP Jarrett Grube: $1
  • INF Carlos Guillen: $55
  • RHP Aaron Hielman: $17
  • LHP Sean Henn: $4
  • C Ralph Henriquez: $1
  • DH Luis Jimenez: $6

  • C Guillermo Quiroz: $1
  • RHP Erasmo Ramirez: $44
  • INF Luis Rodriguez: $10
  • RHP Forrest Snow: $4
  • C Jesus Sucre: $1
  • LHP Philippe Valiquette: $1
  • RHP Taijuan Walker: $45
Biggest gainer: Erasmo Ramirez (+$13)
Biggest loser: Carlos Guillen (-$14)

This week was very kind to my portfolio. Guillen's value unsurprisingly sunk, and guys I've been banking on capitalized. Both Erasmo Ramirez and Vinnie Catricala surged as they continue their bids for spots on the 25-man roster. I think Catricala falls short, but I'm not so sure about Ramirez. He could make it. Anyway, my portfolio turned a $45 profit, the most raw money I've gained in a week yet. Overall, I now have $211, and I started with $100. If only this was real money.

The Mariners and A's head to Japan next week, so next weekend's non-roster update will be the final installment. It's been fun to track while it's lasted, but it's time to get ready for the regular season.

I'm selling all my shares of Heilman, Henn, Henriquez, and Kinney, giving me $39 total to spend. I will spend $10 on another share of Luis Rodriguez, and call that good. Check back next week (maybe Monday, because Opening Day demands attention) for the thrilling conclusion to this short-term fantasy challenge!
